Our impressions before the race:

After thoughts:

Craig: Funnily enough, not much thought at all - maybe a heady feeling that we were all going to tackle an unknown adventure. Trying not to expect anything at all as there were many unknowns. Some limits were going to be tested, and these would be both personal and as part of a team. This crew, including shorecrew, was handcrafted! I cannot help thinking how lucky I have been to be able to be part of this adventure. We sailed great wide open spaces (maybe some tight ones too), but it was the close quarter interaction and banter that will remain firmly etched. Adventure spirit and team effort delux!
Jim I am so looking forward to this - this has to be one of the best things I have done already and we haven't even started the race yet. Yet, I am getting increasingly nervous about that 24 miles that I am meant to run! I pray for good weather and a following breeze. Good weather we got but what breeze we did get was certainly not following! I have never been involved in something where the team spirit and bond was so intense. Our joint motivation and relentless will as a whole team, including all those on the shore was inspirational even to ourselves. Truly awesome.
Gareth I hope none of the runners twist an ankle. Be the oar.
Andy (shore crew) Unable (and not needing to) attend training weekends, I felt I ought to share exactly what the Team was experiencing, so I sat in the sunshine and read a chapter or two of Pete Goss' book "Close To The Wind" and suddenly I was there with them, especially when I had to shelter from a small shower. Excellent spirit, friendship and teamwork was the core of the team's success and we can surely harness this for the future.
